Inspired by the real life of writer and director Sophie Dingemans great-grandmother who in 1907 faked her death so she could run away to New Zealand with the man she loved sold out both its Wellington and Auckland seasons. Subsequently it was nominated for two Chapman Tripp awards: ‘Most Promising New Director of the Year’ and ‘Outstanding new playwright’.
